I was recently nominated for The Leibster Award by honestme363  Her site is great and I really appreciate her saying mine is worthy of checking out. I never really thought anybody would even care about stuff I had to say but I guess some of you like it.  I’m not familiar with these blog awards and challenges.  But I’ll give it a go.

According to honestme’s post, I have to:

  1. Make a post thanking and linking the person who nominated me and include the Leibster Award sticker in the post.
  2. Nominate 5-10 other bloggers and notify them of this in one of their posts.
  3. All nominated bloggers are to have less than 200 followers.
  4. Answer the 11 questions posed by your nominator and create 11 different questions for your nominees to answer.  Or, you can repeat the same questions.
  5. copy these rules into your post.

Ok, I’ve taken care of #1.  Thank you honestme363 for enjoying my postings and for the nomination.

now, the bloggers I’d like to nominate are

  1. New Journey
  2. emmagc75
  3. Melanie(DoesItEvenMatterWhoIReallyAm?)
  4. KatieComeBack
  5. Sabiscuit

Now, to answer honestme’s questions:

  1. If you could meet one famous person, who would it be?

Wow!  This is a hard one!  I believe I would choose Ansel Adams, if for no other reason than to pick his brain, talk shop, and have access to seeing his private stash.

2.  What is the simplest thing that makes you smile?

I hate to piggy back honestme’s answer, but it would have to be my kids’ laughter.  When they’re happy, I’m happy.

3.  What is your favorite season and why?

Summer!  And its not even close!  What’s not to love?  Summer brings fun, travel, sun late into the evening, tans, beaches, pools, cookouts, fireworks, music festivals, etc.  Summer rocks!

4.  What is your all-time favorite food?

That’s a tough one, so I’ll go with my comfort food: homemade lasagna.

5.  What song gets you pumped?

This is a really tough one.  There are so many songs that serve this purpose for me and it’d be nearly impossible to narrow it down to just one.  My current “jam” if you will is “Pretty Pimpin” by Kurt Vile.

6.  What was the most inspiring book you’ve ever read?

“What Are People For” by Wendell Berry.  It’s actually a collection of short stories and poems rather than a novel.  But it’s a powerful discussion of how humans and earth interact with one another and ways for us to become better stewards of it for its own health and to benefit future generations.

7.  Any other interests besides writing/blogging?

Yes, many.  In fact, I’ve been doing this blog since June.  I love photography, music, kayaking, travel, making stained glass, entertaining my crazy banshees, hiking and camping.  Too many things to list but those are primary.

8.  Do you believe in love at first sight?

I don’t know that I ever really did…and maybe still don’t.  Love grows and intensifies over time.  But I do know this, when I met my wife, I just “knew”, ya know?  It was instantaneous, and intense.  I had to pursue her and I couldn’t explain exactly why.  It seemed like a chemical reaction or something.  And not just lust, which was present to be sure!  It was something more than that.  I didn’t really answer that, did I?

9.  Are you multi-lingual or know parts of other languages?

I took four years of French in high school and two in college.  I can speak very little now though, as I never continued to practice.  I wish I’d taken Spanish, and still may, because it would benefit me in my work at times.

10.  Who do you look up to or who inspires you?

i have many people, historical/famous and every-day, that inspire me.  If I had to pick just one though, I believe it would be my mother-in-law.  She passed away nearly 5 years ago now, but the way she lived her life was admirable!  I always thought the world of her and still seek her advice, from afar.

11. What do you enjoy most about blogging?

Ive enjoyed being exposed to other people’s thoughts and opinions.  I enjoy having discussions on my blogs and theirs. Bi feel like I have a habit of high jacking threads at times, and I really don’t mean to.  I just get caught up in responding to comments as a conversation builds.  But that interaction is what I like the best.

So there you have it.  I have answered honestme’s questions, named her site, thanked her, and nominated 5 other bloggers to participate.  It’s up to y’all now.  Here are my 11 questions for you:

  1. What is your favorite vacation destination, and where would you want to travel if money were no object?
  2. What is your career and is what you’ve always wanted to do or did you just fall into it?
  3. What is your favorite movie and why?
  4. What were your high school days like?  Good, bad, or indifferent and why?
  5. If you could be anything, career-wise, what would you choose to do and why?
  6. What is the one thing that grates on your last nerve?
  7. Describe your personality and what type of people are you drawn to?
  8. What was your first car?
  9. If you’re married, how did you meet your spouse?
  10. Do you believe in an afterlife and/or ghosts?
  11. Describe your family and its dynamic.

Have at it if you’d like.  Otherwise check out the sites I’ve nominated.  You’ll like what you find.

    • Of course! I didn’t know anything about these nominations and stuff. Was pretty fun to do though. Of course I was gonna nominate you! You were the very first person to comment on my site when I started doing this. And I appreciate all you’ve commented on since. Hope you do it, but understand if you don’t. Things are time consuming! 😜

  3. Thanks for answering ☺ I love to “hijack” people’s threads too ☺ and I always enjoy the conversation more than actually writing the post. I wouldn’t mind having coffee with Ansel either. I would like to see his ‘crappy’ photos. And as far as #8 goes, I am glad you put it that way, I am not the only one ☺
