Returning the favor

I’m feelin’ a bit down today.  Not for myself mind you, but for some friends, and the current crap sandwich’s they’ve been served.  One is a close friend of ours and she and her husband are struggling.  We had her and her daughter out this weekend.  She needed a break and we were happy to provide a comfortable and safe space for her to vent, drink, and relax.  We have often been the temporary sanctuary for friends over the years.  Being blessed with a location that oozes peace and tranquility, and a home environment that is come-as-you-are comfortable, we often house wounded and weary friends.  This was the case this weekend.

The other friends I’m hurting for are a couple of my WP friends.  From grenades being thrown into the living room of a marriage, to family members dealing with potentially life-threatening illnesses, to the chore that is managing a child with special needs, which I know all to well, to another who’s trying to live a life for her and her family while in pain, with peril lurking around every corner in the benign disguise of the basics of food, flora, and fauna.

I’ve written on here before about the sometimes overwhelming level of empathy I was innately bestowed with.  It’s a blessing at times, but a curse at others.  Reading about the trials and tribulations of these people I’ve conversed with, laughed with, and gotten support from over the past couple of months has me concerned, and sad, for them.  You all follow my site so I’m hoping you see this and know who you are.  And know that you all have a supporter, a listener, a ranting-allowed-here encourager, and, most of all, an empathetic friend who cares and wishes you nothing but good luck, good karma, and positive results in your current situations.  It’s an open invite to use my site or email to vent, rant, yell, cuss, bitch, moan, bellyache, or cry.  I know I don’t know any of y’all personally, but, with the level of honesty this forum provides, I do know your stories.  You’ve told me about them in your posts.  And I’ve grown to genuinely like and care about y’all.  So, if you need me, know I’m here.  I believe in paying it forward.  You guys have been there for me when I was in need of an ear, support, or laughs.  It’s my turn to return the favor.

In light of someone needing good vibes, good karma, and hope, my songs of he day are:

“Instant Karma” by John Lennon

“The Action” by Keb’ Mo’

“Sense Of Purpose” by The Pretenders

“Someone To Watch Over Me” by Willie Nelson

“Morning Has Broken” by Cat Stevens

“You’ve Got A Friend” by James Taylor (Carol King)
