What gives you the right?!?

I do not like feeling like this.  I don’t like having anger boil up from my core like a volcano nearing eruption.  I’m a peaceful person by nature, caring and empathetic to a fault.  Not easily riled into conflict or wars of words.  But I, like everyone else, have my limits.  And today, I’m fed up…and righteously pissed!

I can’t seem to wrap my mind around this place, or the ideologies spewed by hypocrites who hide their hate, bigotry, and judgementalness behind the cloak of their higher power.  And I’m referring to all religious fanatics, of any and all sects.

Those who will proclaim they know just how life should be led, who should be deemed as acceptable and worthy, and who should be allowed to live or die.  To commit genocide, restrict and deny, shun and ridicule.  Those who sit on high, upon their paper thrones and demand that others comply or face the wrath of their god, or themselves, as they seem to think reading their various religious manuals makes them the hand of their god.  Not because it’s for the betterment of humanity, but because they lust for worldly goals of power and self-gratification and the stroking of their precious little mortal egos, justifying their agendas and narrow mindedness in the name of their human interpretations of their god’s “law”.  Those who see differences as insults, opposing viewpoints as threats, and divergent beliefs as grounds for extermination.

Who the fuck do you think you are?!?  What gives you the right to judge, discriminate against, or even kill, another human being?!?  What the fuck gives you that right?!?  WHAT?!?  WHO?!?  Oh, I forgot.  NOTHING!!!   NOBODY!!!  Not your arrogance, not your ego, not your god!  You don’t have the right!  Your god does NOT give you license to be judge, jury, or executioner!  Never has and never will.

We are all in this together, and some of us will see the world and life differently from you, you pompous, self-absorbed, over-inflated assholes!  Get the fuck over yourselves!!!  Live your life how you see fit, believe what you want, hate everybody if you choose to.  But leave the rest of us out of your delusional, nebulan dream world.

Who the fuck do you think you are?!?  I’ll tell you: you’re a human being with flaws, faults, and frailty, just like everybody else.  Justifying your hatred, bigotry, judgements, and murder in the name of your god is pathetic, cowardly, and hypocritical to the Nth degree.  I’m not particularly religious, but if there is a god, I bet you can go straight to hell.

    • Damn, I hate being filled with hate and anger. But I am today. It’s so senseless, so inane. Really pisses me off, and not just what happened last night. The Kim Davis’ of the world, the ISIS’ of the world, the genocides, all in the name of their god! Fuck that!!!

      • The sick part is I’ve read the Koran. It’s very old testament bible but they pervert it for their own evil agenda.

      • Exactly. I’ve read a bit about ISIS. They take the Koran very literal, even down to advocating slavery, crucifixions. Even Shiite Muslims aren’t safe and subject to executions. They are extreme to the highest degree. I’ve seen quotes where the spokesperson states they’ll “conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women.” From this summer. They are insanely intent on being a harbinger and headliner in what they see as the impending end of days. That same spokesman said in September that Muslims in France and Canada “should find an infidel and smash his head with a rock, poison him, run over him with a car, or destroy his crops.” It’s medieval in nature and batshit crazy. I doubt it’s going to slow down anytime soon and I suspect something will occur in the US soon.

      • The Koran only advocates killing infidels if they are actively trying to hurt you. Nothing about 75 virgins either lol. But yes I fear more violence is coming.

      • I read last night that one of their leaders was killed in a drone attack in Libya. The cycle continues. I’m sure there’ll be a response from what happened in Paris, then they’ll respond, then we’ll respond, etc, etc. Seems never ending.

  2. Amen! (Please note that I am not religious in any singular sense, but it seemed an appropriate response) and it is impossible not to feel the effects of the tragedies around us.

    • I hate feeling like I do today. To allow others to make me angry and bitter. Not usually my thing. 😕

      • I understand completely! It seems like days like this just trudge up all of the bad shit that has happened in the world in the last 10 years…hard not to feel that way SOB. I hope your day turned out better. ☺

      • It was fine, and busy thankfully. My oldest has his 13th Bday tomorrow so that’ll be a welcome distraction for us. The hardest part about today was having to discuss all this with our boys. They’re old enough now to be able to try to explain the world, in their terms at least. But how do you explain this? The discussion then led to 9/11, Syria, the refugees, ISIS. I mean, my goodness, I don’t know what to tell them, except the reality of what is going on in the world. Ugh! :/

      • Aye! I understand the difficulties…shaping young minds. May I ask how you two handled it? It will be a good reference for me, for future use…one day when you have the time to/energy to answer ☺

      • As honest as we could. But we focused on all the helpers, the people that offered safe houses, the Facebook posts with French flags, and how they didn’t win, they just brought us all together. There’s a Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers) quote where he said, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always see people helping.” That made it less scary.” We are honest, without being too graphic, but we try to focus on the good.

      • That is awesome SOB! Thanks so much for the advice ☺ I hope you and your family have a really great day tomorrow! Tell your boy happy birthday, from Canada 😊

    • Thank you. If one good thing comes from this tragedy, I hope it’s a good long discussion on how out of whack religious fanatics are, and not just radical Islamists. Every sect has its wackos, including Christianity. They all, every sect, denomination, and religion, have their percentage of arrogant, hypocritical, and over the top fools. They need to be put in check. All of them.

  3. I am too shocked to feel anger or outrage, but reading this: “But leave the rest of us out of your delusional, nebulan dream world,” I felt that I was not alone in believing that life is meant to be enjoyed. Life is our precious gift. It is not up to flawed human beings to tell us how to live it. What hurt the most was opinions from people who said that it is not my business or it is useless to be outraged at what happened. I have friends who live and work in Paris. Relatives living in Europe who regularly take the train to Paris to hang out. There are people in that city who will hop on the next plane to visit me at a moment’s notice if I say, “I need you right now.” Should I not be worried sick about their safety? This was an attack on life. We do not stay quiet about it to please emotionally castrated people. So, thank you for screaming here because I’m still shaking and can’t deal with it.

    • I remember the feeling. I had a friend from high school who happened to be on the first plane to hit the World Trade Center. He and his partner had just come to Boston to pick up the child they had adopted and were flying back to San Francisco. They were randomly exterminated without regard. For what? For nothing! It’s all bullshit! It’s all about hatred, revenge for some perceived slight, and worst of all, they do it in the name of their god and desecrate an entire religion. It’s hatred and evil, plain and simple. You bet, as a US citizen, I know exactly how the people of France feel today. It sucks, and my heart aches for them. The ones responsible for planning and carrying out these senseless murders can burn in hell for all I care. And the fact that they make me feel that emotion pisses me off. May you, your family, and your friends be well and remain safe, mon amie! I’m so sorry anyone else has had to feel this fear and anger at the hands of these criminals.:(

    • And I was referring to the religious zealots and terrorists when I said to leave us out of their world. I am solidly with the victims in France, just as I was with those taken on 9/11. You’re not alone, life should be lived as each of us see fit, even if we don’t see eye to eye on religion, politics, sexual orientation, or any other topic up for debate. My point in this post was we should all be able to believe in a god, but those who kill, discriminate, or judge because our beliefs may be different have zero right to do so.

  6. the fact that they say they do it in the name of a god makes it even worse, they don’t have the guts to stand up for their own actions!
