Make a wish

I believe this.  I believe in the power of positive thinking, that our minds are capable of altering our realities, now and in the future.

I wonder though, can my positive thoughts and good vibes be transferred onto others?  Meaning, if I think good thoughts on someone else’s behalf, can that positivity be transferred to them?  If I wish for good for another, can that possibly have an impact,  helping good things to come their way?  I’m not claiming I’m some preacher laying my hands on the stricken and miraculously, they’re  healed.  I’m pondering the transference of energy, positive energy, and those thoughts, hopes, and wishes leading to positive results for someone else.

I suppose this is what some would refer to as praying, and that seems similar, on a cosmic kinda level.  But that’s asking for help from an invisible being, and steeped in ones personal level of faith.  What I’m talking about is more concrete, although cosmic in nature too.  I’m referring to laws of attraction, good begets good kinda stuff.

I don’t know the answer to this question, but I’m of the mindset that it sure as hell can’t hurt.  So, to those of you whom I’ve commented, “Good thoughts sent your.” or, “Sending good vibes to you and your family.” or some other version of that theme, I really mean it.  I’m not trying to be cliche, making nice talk, or blowing smoke up your ass.  I really am attempting to send positive energy your way, whether it be for healing, hope, love, or safe travels.  I do the same for my family, my patients, and many of you, my terrific cyber friends.

With all this in mind, I’m gonna send a heaping helping of positivity and uber good vibes to one person here in particular.  My dear WP friend Melanie has been in the fight of her life, for some time now.  Those of you who follow her already know the situation.  If you don’t, read her latest post by clicking her name above.  Encourage her, pray for her, send her some positive vibes.  She’s awesome and doesn’t deserve what’s been sat in her lap.  I have no idea if an onslaught of positive energy will change a thing for her.  But in the spirit of hope, I think it’s worth a shot.  Thanks in advance for any participation in this experiment in compassion and energy transference.  I sure hope it works.

  3. Fantastic post son!!! I believe in the law of attraction, the power of prayer and positive thinking. And if anyone deserves all that is good in this life, it’s Melanie. Her light shines so bright, it’s awe-inspiring!! Not to mention she has the best sense of humor and her Dad is Santa!!! Lol Love that woman.

    • She’s pretty fucking great. All of it makes me sad for her and her family, but pissed off at the senselessness of it all, especially someone as awesome as she is. I was introduced to her through one of your oats months ago, and boy I’m glad I was. She’s been terrific.

      • My oats lol? It does suck but we cant lose hope. She needs hope after all she’s endured. Right now more than ever. I don’t know how I found her but she had posted a pic of her n her Dad n he looks just like friggin Santa! I told her, we laughed, she wrote a post about how he’s played Santa etc. and adored her ever since. Jim actually got to hang with her a while back, the lucky guy. I’ve missed her 😦

      • I hate spell correct!!! Your oats? Thanks for sharing those! Anyway, yes, it sucks, so unfair. I’ve seen pics of her dad, and he’s a perfect Santa! The post you made, I can’t recall what got us on the subject, but she tricked a girl into getting a bar code tramp stamp. I wrote her back about that, and I’ve lived her since. She’s awesome. I wrote her yesterday, trying to encourage her to use us as some measure of support. All we can do from our corners of the world is be there for her, and I want to be. Hope she takes me up on it.

      • I hope so too! Hey what do u think about starting a go fund for her? Even if a person is broke, we can add $10, it might help. But please know how much you helped me with your love n support. I consider you my own little devilish angel lol. Hugs!!!

      • Hahaha!!! I love the description. I suppose that’s fairly accurate. And no thanks are necessary, I’m happy to do. Besides, you’ve helped me work through some shit too! And yes, that’s a great idea! I’ve never done it though, do know how to set one up?

      • No but I’ll do some research. What’s ur email? Then we can run it by Mel because I know we’ll have to either setup or use an existing PayPal account if she has it. I just know so many people love her. Even $5 x 100 could pay a few bills ya know?

  5. You’re too wonderful. I cannot tell you what this means to me. I am getting my laptop rather wet with the tears that are rolling off my face right now… I am overwhelmed. I wish I could hug you right now. Thank you. To the Sun and back, and million times over, I thank you. You are too kind. I love you my friend. xoxo M

    • I mean it! Don’t be stubborn, you’ve got tons of us out here and we can be your crutch. It’s not much, I know. But take advantage of us. Always ready with an ear, a shoulder, to be a listener during a bitch session, to make you laugh. Don’t isolate yourself, you need to stay positive, as much as is possible. Let us help, my dear! That’s what friends are for! You know where to find me if need be. Hugs to you and your guys, Mel! 😚

      • Thank you. It’s been very hard to try to pull myself out of my shell and start talking again. Like I said in my post, I’m just not myself anymore. It’s been really, really hard to come to terms with. It doesn’t help that we live in a place where we have no friends, and no family, so I’m living like a hermit. But you’re right, I do have all of you guys who are just a few keystrokes away, and as hard as it is to talk about things, I think that it’s been therapeutic for me over the past 24 hrs since I wrote my post. The outpouring of support and love is overwhelming and I guess I needed it more than I realized. I love you. 💖 💋 M

  7. Thought you might be interested to know… Lynne McTaggart, researched the exact question you posed here (among many, many other intriguing questions), and documented the scientific evidence- her findings- in a book called “The Intention Experiment”.

As far as your question goes… YES! You can intend to send positive energy to another person and they will receive the benefits of that positive energy. (Explains why prayer can heal over distances & and loving energy makes babies/children thrive).

Interestingly enough, it was also found during the course of this research, that positive energy- when directed at another person- is more powerful if you are in proximity to that person; while negative energy works best from a distance (like when you’re bad-mouthing, or gossiping about someone behind their back.)

The book, by the way, was excellent. I bought it on audio and gained over 10 HOURS of amazing scientific research on intention. I’d highly recommend it, if you’re interested in that kind of thing 😊.

    Great post!
    ~The Narcissists’s Wife

Incidentally, your intentions will also work better if you intend into the past, rather than the present or future, as we believe.
