Share Your World-Week 16 2016

I participated in Cee’s Share Your World Challenge for the first time last week.  It was fun, and through that, I was introduced to some cool new peeps and some good conversations were stimulated.  So, I’ll play again this week.

The format is simple:  Cee poses three random questions, a fourth from a set list of either “would you rather…”, make a list out of a topic, or complete a sentence that she starts, and a fifth “bonus” question, which is always the same.  Anyone who wants to join in is welcome to, just pingback Cee if you choose to play along.

Here are Cee’s questions:

1. Wanting something to quench your thirst, what would you drink?

I’m a big water drinker, especially during hotter months.  But I have to admit, I love good sweet tea with lemon.  However, I’m assuming the question was about non-alcoholic drinks.  If not, my answers would be different.  😃

2. What made you feel good this past week?

Easy.  My wife gave me a big, outta the blue surprise this past Saturday.

I wrote about it hereso I won’t go into a long dissertation about it.  Rest assured though, it was pretty great.  We had a wonderful night and made some great memories.  We treasure our time, when it’s just us two, and I love having her to myself.  And she kicks ass at surprises!  😃

3. When you’re alone at home, do you wear shoes, socks, slippers, or go barefoot?

No question: barefoot!!!

4. Would you rather live where it is always hot or always cold?

Easy!  Always hot!

Winter has its charms.  Snow is fun and pretty, ice makes everything glisten, and there’s nothing as crystal clear as a frigid January night, especially in the darkness of rural living.  But cold?  Cold sucks!!!  Give me heat, sun, and shorts/short sleeves any day!

Bonus Question:

What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to from next week?

Well, I’m so grateful for my wife, our bond, and for the fact that, for reasons not entirely understood, she loves me.  As for what I’m looking forward to for the coming week?  That would be a successful surgery for my brother-in-law.  And for the post-surgery results to be favorable for no mets.

So, there ya’ have it.  Visit Cee’s site or ping her back if you play along.

My songs of the day are:

I Feel Good” by James Brown

Barefoot Children In The Rain” by Jimmy Buffet

Thank You” by Led Zeppelin

Everybody Needs Love” by The Drive-By Truckers

Summertime Boy” by Seasick Steve

Beer Ain’t Drinkin” by Mojo Nixon

I Thank You” by ZZ Top

Tequila Sunrise” by The Eagles

Summer In The City” by Lovin’ Spoonful

Dancing Barefoot” by Patti Smith

  1. Love your pictures. This looks like a fun Challenge. Maybe I’ll try it sometime. I’m pretty sure today isn’t the day though… I think there would be a tad too much darkness… too moody! But barefoot – yes.

    • Barefoot, indeed! I hate shoes. I’m so sorry you’re having a crappy day. I’m a shitty joke teller, but when I get home this afternoon, I’ll have my boys tell me a few to send your way. 😃

  2. I love the bond you share with your wife, will go read about your surprise! Barefeet for sure! A cool challenge!

    • Haha! It’s gettin’ there though! As for my wife, you better believe I love her. We’re likely a bit nauseating to some, and I’m sure some readers get sick of me blabbering on about her, but I don’t care. 😃

      • No way, not nauseating at all! I’d like to imagine my husband would say those things about me if he were blogging! (And I think he would if you got a few beers in him!) Anyway, blabber on! 😀

      • Haha! Beer or not, I’m sure he would. And, what’s so funny about this whole blog thing, is that, in real life, I’m the last dude you’d peg as a blabberer. To my wife, closest friends (a handful)? Maybe. But in general? Nope. Why I feel the comfort, and/or need, to do it here is still beyond me. 😃

  6. Trying to play catch up on reading but I’ve bookmarked all of your posts. Give me hot weather any day! I can take it because I’m from Texas! I’d much rather sweat than freeze.

  10. I love shoes, but also hate to clean so around the house it’s socks only. (Socks because I am chronically freezing and I don’t like feet in general.)
