Share Your World- 2016 Week 13

Time again for a new weeks’ Share Your World prompt from Cee’s Photography.  Cee poses three random questions, a complete-this-sentence question, and a bonus question.  She says photos are welcome, but not a necessity.  Here are her questions:

Are you right or left handed?

I am a righty, and nearly useless with my left hand, with the exception of lifting or gaining leverage.  I almost think I’m stronger in my non-dominant hand, which is kinda odd.  Go figure.  One of the twins is a southpaw though.

If you had only one tv, would you prefer it in the living room or another room?

Living room.  But as it stands now, we have one in our room, and each boy has one in their rooms.  Seems like a lot, doesn’t it?

Have you ever participated in a distance walking, swimming, running, or biking event?  Tell your story.

I have participated in many walks and 5K type events, through work or in support of a friend, family member, or favored charitable organization.  The ones for Hosparus are special to me because of how they treated my grandfather, the Breast Cancer Awareness are because of one of our best friends having fought, and won, her battle, and the Autism Awareness ones because my oldest son is Autistic.  Just for fun, there’s an event here sponsored every year where you bike a while, run/walk a while, then paddle the river for a while.  I do that one just for me.

Complete this sentence:  Love is

To me, love is countless things, and nearly impossible to describe in one sentence…or thirty.  I guess I’d say it’s feeling so close to someone that you can nearly read their mind, feeling you don’t know where you end and they begin when pretzeled together, feeling like the luckiest man on earth.  Feeling butterfly’s in my stomach whenever I hear her voice, get a text in the middle of the day, or late at night when she’s away, seeing her across a room, or when she touches me.  Feeling like you’ve known them forever, as soon as you meet them.  It’s caring, trusting, knowing, believing.  It’s a crutch when injured and an inspiration to keep on.  It’s peaceful and passionate, calm and intense, loving and…lustful.  I could go on, but I’d not begin to know when to stop.  So I guess I’ll just finish your sentence with: Love is…amazing!

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Well, we are all super grateful that my brother-in-law had extremely successful surgery to address thyroid cancer.  The prognosis is great, he was sent home the next day (which amazed me), and, by the time my wife left them Sunday afternoon, he was talking fine and up moving around.  By all accounts, it’s a terrific result.

As for the upcoming week, it’s our last week of school before Spring Break!  A week off, sand in my toes, salt on my skin, sun on my face?  Yes please!!!  Grateful doesn’t begin to cover it.

My songs of the day are:

(I Do) Like We Do” by Harry Connick, Jr.

Come Monday” by Jimmy Buffet

Blessed To Be A Witness” by Ben Harper

Still I Long For Your Kiss” by Lucinda Williams

The Stars Over Your House” by Bob Schneider

  3. Hello and happy Chewsday (I hope I just made that up). I love these share your world posts. Because I have nothing interesting to add but marvel at the wonderful things I can discover about people. As for handedness, I am the proud niece of two ambidextrous and two left handed uncles. I’ve learned to actively engage my left hand for music and archery. So, I’m not useless but I would not be able to draw from both hips to Milla Jovovich zombies in a basement.

    • No, it was south of us. We had a pretty bitchin’ storm out of it though. And yes, it is grand indeed! 😃

      • glad to hear it missed you…all I could think about was how many trees did you loose and hoped your roof was still on!! almost vacation time….WHOOOOO HOOOOOO

      • We’ve been lucky in terms of storms. Have had our share of tornado warnings, and high-wind storms, but each time we’ve lost a branch, or whole tree, it’s never hit anything vital. And yes, it’s almost vacation time!!! Woo hoo indeed! 😃

    • Yep, that’s me. From about 24 years ago. Though I don’t look much different now, other a few laugh lines and a few grayer hairs. My wife gets mad at me because she says I haven’t aged for my age. Not sure how accurate she is but I sure don’t feel my age. 😃
