Time again for the Share Your World prompt from Cee’s Photography, a site you need to go see, like now.  I’ll wait (elevator music ala Herb Alpert playing as I lean against the kitchen counter leafing through a magazine).

Ok, you’re back?  Good.  So, here’s the deal: Cee poses three random questions, one question of the would-you-rather/finish-this-sentence/make-a-list ilk, and a fifth question asking what we are grateful for from the past week and what we’re looking forward to in the coming week.

Without further adieu, here are Cee’s questions:

If you had to have your vision corrected, would you rather: glasses or contacts?  Or what do you use if you need to have your vision corrected?

I’ve worn glasses since I was about 10. I’ve gone the contacts route in the past, but I’m used to the glasses.  I’m sorry to say, I had to go to no-line bifocals last year.  I DO NOT like admitting that for some reason.  😕

If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?

Thats tough, and I’d have to say it’d change from day to day.  Some days it’d be:

Was school easy or difficult for you?  How so?

Well, it was fairly easy through high school.  I’m no Mensa member, although I did have a few AP classes.  History was my favorite, any math was my struggle.  College wasn’t bad, but my first major was accounting.  Math, and lots of it, required much effort.  I made it through, but hated it.  When I decided to change careers, and went back to school for Occupational Therapy, I had a much easier time.  It came natural to me and was not a struggle, not even Gross Anatomy.  Evidently, it was a good decision, as I’ve been doing this for nearly 20 years now.

Would you rather take a 1 or 2 week vacation with an organized your or take a cruise of your choice?

Actually neither.  Too many other people involved with either option for my liking.  We prefer to explore on our own.  Given these two choices though, I’d pick a cruise.

What are you grateful for from the past week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

There really wasn’t anything earth shattering going on the past week, so I’ll go with being grateful for having a house full of love and laughter.  Home, my wife, and my kids are my sanctuary.  I’m certainly grateful for that and them.  In the week coming up, we are considering adopting a new dog:

He’s an older dog, not sure of the mix, but needs a good home, especially in his later years.  We go to meet him this weekend.

Thanks so much for hosting these, Cee.  Check her site out, you won’t regret it.

My songs of the day are:

“Hurricane Waters” by Citizen Cope

“Blind” by The Talking Heads

“Like A Rolling Stone” by Bob Dylan

“My Dog And Me” by John Hiatt

“Holiday” by Jimmy Buffet

“North and South” by The Clash

“The Soul Of A Man” by Blind Willie Johnson

“Back Down South” by Kings of Leon

  1. In your job no doubt you help scores of people living a better life. I’ve had to relearn to walk twice. And was in a wheel chair for about a year. So I want to say thank you for you service to all who benefit from it. 😀

  3. Ok, holy coincidence Batman. I started out as an accounting major, too. Got as far as tax accounting before bailing. Dude! Are you sure we’re not related? 😂

    • That’s pretty funny! Small world. I finished, worked a couple of years in a cubicle, hated it. My wife was a Norse at the time and introduced therapy to me as an option. Went back to school, worked three jobs, including a third shift at UPS, and now here I am. Twists and turns man, twists and turns. 😊

      • For real! I switched to marketing, graduated with that degree. Worked at “The Gap” as a store manager (Reality Bites, anyone?) before going on to Chiro school! I am so glad you answered these questions. Btw, I agree about how tremendous your kind of work is. My Dad had some pretty amazing therapists when he had a stroke years ago. You guys don’t get nearly enough credit!

      • That’s so funny! I just got to a point where I had to pick a major. Thought about photography, but I didn’t want to be a starving artist. I just picked a business school major, figured I’d be able to do some kinda work. Wasn’t me…at all. And, thank you for saying that. I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, I’ve seen my share of strokes. Sorry he had to go through that.

  4. I need to try this challenge again. I feel your pain about the bifocals – my husband the optometrist also has trouble admitting he needs them, even though he encourages people every day through their angst over needing them…

  7. If I had the space, I would adopt ALL of the dogs! Sometimes when I’m having a bad day, I go and play with the dogs at the SPCA. Puppy therapy! I love Citizen Cope!

  8. Lovely post. Nice to get to know you a bit more. Great work that you do and I have tons of respect for the work you do. I hope you do adopt the little guy, and give him his forever home. You and your family are filled with love, so I know he will be happy with you guys. I have such a soft spot for dogs and cats, in fact all animals. I always wanted a huge property so I could save them all 🙂

  9. Funny – I have been in glasses since I was 8, but probably needed them at 5. LOL And I loved math and hated history!
