This is a bit of a short turnaround for me, as I just posted Week 17’s answers on Sunday.  Now, Week 18’s questions are on tap.

If you don’t know the drill, the Share Your World Challenge from Cee’s Photography consists of three random questions, one that requests an either/or answer, to make a list, or finish a sentence, and then the final response is to tell what we are thankful for from last week and tell what we’re looking forward to in the upcoming week.  Cee says we can utilize pics as part of the answers, but it’s not necessary.

Here are Cee’s questions:

Who was your best friend in elementary school?

Well, his name was Jason, and he lived a couple streets over from me.  We went to school together from second grade through high school.  We were still in contact into college, but not as frequently.  When I sat out for a year or so and moved to New Orleans, we lost track.  We still run into each other, and we’ll see each other at concerts or parties from time to time.  He now owns a pretty great restaurant in the city, a bourbon themed bistro, and we go for dinner every now and then.  He has a terrific bourbon bar and a private tasting room in the basement.  And, we Kentuckians do enjoy, and know, our bourbon.

What things could people do for you on a really bad day that would really help you?

Well, friends can just try to make me laugh.  That’s my favorite thing and making light of whatever situation is at hand takes away some of its power.  Now, what my wife does for me on those kinds of days is a whole other animal.  No, I’m not saying anything salacious or seedy, although making love is always good for what ails.  I’m referring to how my body reacts to simply being held by her or snuggling with her or talking with her.  She makes the world disappear, my knees weak, and my mind at ease.  And it happens in the first 5 seconds we hold each other.

If you could make a 15-second speech to the entire world, what would you say?

Please listen to each other, accept that we will all have differences, and be kind to one another.  We are all in this together.

Would you rather be an amazing dancer or amazing singer?

Oh, without question, be a great singer, because that’d be my gateway into rock and roll.  Actually, if I had my ultimate choice, I’d wish to be a guitar player rivaling Jimi, Stevie Ray, Eric, or any other world-class, kick ass guitarist you could name.  But, until I find that genie in a bottle, it’s not likely to occur.

What are you grateful for from the past week and what are you looking forward to during the week coming up?

As for last week, I’m thankful that it ended.  Not a banner week for multiple reasons.  What I’m looking forward to in this upcoming week is a smooth, uneventful week with a Derby party to attend at a great friends’ house on Saturday.  And hopefully I’ll win the jackpot that day too!  🙂

My songs of the day are:

“Song and Dance Man” by Jason Collette

“All Your Favorite Bands” by Dawes

“Hold On” by Tom Waits

“The Healing” by Gary Clark, Jr.

“Whiskey Lips” by Jacob Resch

“A Horse With No Name” by America

“Play Guitar” by John Mellencamp

  3. How cool that you keep in touch with your elem school best friend! Even if it’s not frequent, it’s impressive!!

    • Every now and then. Life takes over, and we’ve moved around a bit. He started off in the restaraunt biz with a pizza parlor. Used to frequent that place a bit more than his new place. The new one is more high-end. I’m more of a pizza and a beer kinda guy. But, yes, we see each other a few times a year.

  4. Well I am currently having a very bad day. In progress. Thank God (or thank someone… I am not at all religious) that I have at least one friend willing to listen to me… for longer than any sane human should. And she even gets me which is the best part of all. And she hates stupid clichés as much as I do so I don’t even have to vomit! 🙂 But I guess when you have no one to talk to for months at a time, when it comes out, it’s not rain, it’s a tsunami. So yeah that. And I’m sure you already know that I’m beyond envious of the rest of your answer to that question. I haven’t had that in a very very long time. I’m happy to know it exists for someone!
