It’s time again for another Share Your World prompt from Cee’s Photography.  Cee poses three random questions, one question that either a finish this sentence, would you rather, or make a list style, and the final question is a constant: tell what youre thankful for from the past week and what you may be looking forard to in the coming week.  Cee says we are welcome to add photos if we want but they are t necessarily necessary.  This week’s questions are interesting.

Here are Cee’s questions:

You win a pet monkey, but this isn’t just any old monkey.  It can do one trick for you whenever you want, from getting a pop out of the fridge to washing your hair.  What would be the trick?

This is an easy one: LAUNDRY!

With five of us in the house, three of them being rambunctious young boys, living on a farm, and with the types of outdoor activities we participate in, laundry multiplies like rabbits.  Just when you think it’s caught up, a giant pile suddenly materializes.  A monkey that could do the laundry, fold it, find all the missing left socks, and then put it all away?  Yes please!

What caring thing are you going to do for yourself today?

I brought my kayak with me today, and barring rain, I’ll be going for a paddle on the lake before heading home.  I love having my wife and boys out with me, but when I go by myself, it’s my sanctuary.

The only way it could be better is if I were on salt water instead of fresh.

What color do you feel most comfortable wearing?

Not sure there’s a certain color per se, but I’m most comfortable in shorts, a tee, and either barefoot or in Keen’s.  I don’t wear many vibrant colors, though I can, and prefer soft cotton in muted colors.  Like this shirt I picked up from the Piggly Wiggly (or, as one of the twins used to call it, the Wiggly Pig 😃) in Apalachicola:

Complete this sentence: When I travel, I love to…

Get off the beaten path and immerse into the culture of wherever we may be.  I hate agendas and set plans, preferring to fly by the seat of our pants.  I go on vacation to get out of a routine and schedule.  And I don’t require 5-star accommodations either. We only stay in hotels of any kind if traveling when absolutely necessary to stop for the night.  I prefer a tent or our old camper to a lodge, although an isolated cabin is cool too, when in the mountains.  I prefer a private house with tons of privacy to a resort or condo when at the beach.  VRBO is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

Oh, and buy stickers too:

Bonus Question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful for all the fun that last week held.  Derby is a celebration around here, and we did our fair share, and survived.  Parties, a concert, and lots of time with friends and my family.  It was fantastic.  As for the remainder of this week, I’m looking forward to some normalcy and down time, and we made the final installment on our house for this Summer’s trip to the OBX.  The countdown to Ocracoke has officially begun!

As usual, thanks, Cee, for all that you do.  Your challenges and prompts are always fun!  For all y’all not named Cee, go check her out.  😃

My songs of the day are:

“Hotel California” by The Eagles

“Fashion” by David Bowie

“Shock The Monkey” by Peter Gabriel

“Gringo Honeymoon” by Robert Earl Keen

“Ain’t That Something” by Trashcan Sinatra’s

“Dirty Laundry” by Don Henley

“Moving” by Supergrass

“Jockey Full of Bourbon” by Tom Waits
