Time again for this week’s Share Your World prompt from Cee’s Photography.  You can find out more by clicking on the link to her site.  While you’re there, check out all her other challenges and photography info.  Hers is a terrific site with loads of fun and great instructional pieces.  Go check it out!

Here are Cee’s questions for us this week:

How many languages do you you speak?

Only one…well at least.  Some may say I don’t even have a mastery of English. I did take 4 years of French in high school and 2 in college, so, for a time, I was fairly fluent in French.  I use it so infrequently these days that I’d consider myself merely functional at this point.  I know a little Spanish and a bit of sign language as well.  Just enough to look silly though.

What are some words that just make you smile?

This is interesting, as there are many words that sound funny to me, and some that conjure up bad, bad images, and maybe even incite a gag reflex.  If I had to list some that cause a snicker, I guess I’d go with these off the top of my head: kumquat, pussywillow, squirt, titillate, and nincompoop.

If you were the original architect of one existing building, which building would you select?

I’ve always been a huge fan of Frank Lloyd Wright and the Prarie School of Design.  I love the beauty in its simplicity, the clean lines, and the substantial feel of the wood and stone used prominently in those designs.  That said, I think Falling Water is his masterpiece.

So that’s my pick.

Would you rather have telepathy or telekinesis? (Telepathy is the communication using your brain waves, telekinesis is channeling the energy onto physical objects to cause substantial, observable physical changes.)

Either of these would be super cool skills to have.  To be able to move things with my mind would be great, for freaking out my kids and winning bar bets.  Being able to communicate without words is pretty cool too, though I kinda already do that with my wife.  And I can convey a stern message to my boys, when they’re in the midst of acting like fools, without saying a word.  If I could pick any skill of this ilk though, it’d be teleportation. Beam me up Scottie…to Ocracoke…NOW!

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Well, last week we had our 20th Anniversary, and of all the things in my life to be thankful for, this amazing woman is at the top of the list.

As for what I’m looking forward to in the coming week, it’d be filling a couple of orders and starting a couple more of the items we are currently making.

Once limited to art shows and friends, it’s beginning to take off a bit and we are thankful for that.

There ya’ have it.  Thanks, Cee, for yet another round of terrific questions.  Fun as always.  If you’d like to play along, go see Cee.  😃

  3. Ooh, that is Meg’s fish. I’m so excited to see the seahorses! Do you want me to save beer caps for you? Hubby and the boys drink beer. Does it need to be any special kinds or will any do?

  7. So cool! I had no idea how crafty y’all are. I can just picture y’all in retirement..soaking up the sun, while making a killing on your bottle cap fish. Why not?
