Time again for another round of Share Your World from Cee’s Photography.  You know the drill, so here goes:

What’s your most memorable (good or bad) airplane flight?

I don’t know that I’ve ever had, in all my years of flying, which began at 8 when my parents divorced and my dad fled to South Carolina, a really super awesome flying experience.  I’m mean, c’mon, flying has always kinda sucked,  I have had dozens of bad flying experiences.

Since I’ve recently flown, and coming home was a bad experience, I’ll use that one:  Due to fly out of Key West on a Monday at 2:15pm.  Flight delayed, twice, then cancelled altogether.  Because it’s key West, we were booked on a small regional airline.  No other flights available from Key West.  Their solution?  Van us, and seven other people, up to Miami, 4 hours away.  To catch a flight to Tallahassee.  That didn’t depart from Miami until 9:40pm.  Roughly the same time we were due to catch our connecting flight in Atlanta.  Didn’t arrive in Tallahassee until nearly 11:00pm.  We missed our connections, obviously, and were forced to rent a car, then drove an hour and a half south to my in-laws’ place in Apalachicola and spent the night.  Drove home the next day…12 hours.  So, my last flying experience resulted in missed flights, dreadful carpooling, rental cars, half-day drives, and a call-in to work.  Flying sucks.

How many bones, if any, have you broken?

Surprisingly enough, with as much stupid stuff as I’ve done over the years,  I’ve never broken a bone.  I’ve nearly drown in a river, probably should be paralyzed from a drunken dive into the 4′ end of a pool while on Spring Break in South Padre, and busted my head more times than I care to recall.  But no broken bones.

If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be? (guest can be dead, alive, famous or someone you just know)

John Lennon, Ansel Adams, and Jimi Hendrix.

Make a Currently List: What are you reading, watching, listening to, eating, needing, wanting, and missing right now?

Reading: The Wright Brothers by David McCullough

Watching: Nothing in particular

Listening To: Man, there’s not enough room here to answer this, but the last two bits of music I’ve bought are new releases from the past week:

Day of The Dead:

It’s a 59-track tribute to The Grateful Dead with an array of artists contributing.

True Sadness by The Avett Brothers:

Eating: Strawberries

Wanting: Ocracoke

Missing: See previous two answers above ^

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

From last week, I’m grateful for another order of the items we’re currently working on.

It was a job, and a few late nights, but we got ‘me done.

In the coming week, I’m looking forward to a few things: The July edition of Waterfront Wednesday, a free concert series during the Summer, is tomorrow, we have another order to fill before leaving for vacation, and packing our stuff for the aforementioned vacation.  In 9 days, we’ll be on island time, and it can’t arrive soon enough.

There ya’ have it.  Thanks again, Cee, for another interesting round of questions.  If you haven’t paid Cee a visit, I suggest you do so.

My songs of the day are:

“Candy Man” by Jim James and Friends

“Box of Rain” by J Mascis and Kurt Vile and The Violators

“Uncle John’s Band” by Lucius

“Ain’t No Man” by The Avett Brothers

“I Wish I Was” by The Avett Brothers

“Bird Song” by Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and Friends
