Share Your World-2016 Week 38
It’s time for this week’s Share Your World prompt from Cee’s Photography.
Here are Cee’s questions for the week:
Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?
Well, it depends. With acquaintances? Not really. I have my bubble, and prefer that people I barely know don’t pop it. Like in the checkout line? Back up, dude!
With my friends? Sometimes. You know how it is. Dudes “Bro-Hug”. Not really a hug, more of a hand slap/chest bump/half hug kinda thing.
But in dire situations, in sad times or really happy times, I’ll definitely hug my buds.
Now, at home? With my wife and boys? Absofrigginlutely! We are huggy and kissy, say “I love you!” freely, and let the love flow unabashedly. These four are my world, and I make certain they know that, daily.
What is your least favorite Candy?
This is easy, and they’ll be in my kids’ Trick or Treat bags soon, unfortunately. Those orange and black wax-paper wrapped things that cheapskates dole out without remorse on Halloween.
I don’t have a clue what they even are. Caramel/fudge/peanut butter, some sick combination of the three? I don’t know. But, no candy should have that fleshy color. They’re awful!
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “fun”?
My wife and boys.
List of Favorite Smells: What smells do you love? Whether it’s vanilla scented candles or the smell of coffee in the morning or the smell of a fresh spring rain…make a list of all the things you love for a little aromatherapy.
I have many, many favorites. I’m not sure I can fit them all in this post, but I’ll list a few off the top of my head:
Sheets dried on the clothesline, salt air, my wife, my boys (most of the time, at least), babies, puppy’s breath, summer rain, cookies baking, the coffee aisle at a grocery, fresh coffee brewing, my dad’s pipe tobacco when I was a kid, my grandma’s perfume when I was a kid, left-handed cigarettes, a fireplace/fire pit/bonfire, real Christmas trees, Coppertone sun tan lotion, apple blossoms, the mountains, the smell of a river or lake, the fuel/oil smell of a boat motor.
I’ll stop there, I suppose, but I could go on and on.
Most, if not all of those, jar memories too. Funny how smells, and music, for me at least, can elicit memories almost immediately.
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful that my wife made it home from Apalach safely and that her dad is doing well. Also, the boys’ midterm grades came home Friday and all are A’s and B’s! Woot!!! Oh, and my Cards beat the snot outta Florida State Saturday, so that was pretty friggin’ great too!
In the week coming up, we are gearing up for, and mostly ready for, our first art fair of the Fall season.
Hoping for a successful day, new orders, and minimal items to bring home. This will be the first of three in the next month or so, so we’ll be busy for a few weeks here.
My songs of the day are:
“The Action” by Keb’ Mo’
“Baby, I Love Your Way” by Peter Frampton
“Four Sticks” by Led Zeppelin
“Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana
“Candyman” by The Grateful Dead
“Family Man” by Fleetwood Mac
“Hell Of A Season” by The Black Keys
“I Need Some Money” by John Lee Hooker
Thanks so much for sharing this week. I enjoyed reading your responses.

Puppy breath?

Oh, absolutely! Literally, the breath of a puppy. Can’t describe it really, but every puppy I’ve ever had is the same.

Admittedly not my favorite.

I love this post so much I could die! (drama queen at your service) Puppy breath, YES! And puppy feet, too! I’m warning you Beach, this deserves a virtual hug!

Hahaha! Well, I see you as a friend and not just an acquaintance, so I’ll return that virtual hug! Yes!!! Puppy breath is fantastic! Couldn’t put it in words to save my life, but it’s terrific. 😃

I’ve been told that if I bring home another kayak or puppy/kitten home that I’ll be sleeping in the camper. 😃

Well, funny you mention that, because even though I’m blockaded from puppies, she is exploring adopting a second adult rescue, so I may get another dog soon, at least. I love rescues, but I’m craving a puppy. 😃

It’s just not the same! I know what you mean! All my recent dogs have been rescues too. Just gotta love the cute goofy rambunctiousness of a puppy!

Ok, I’m officially stealing all of your ‘favorite smells’ answers! *Left handed cigarettes-too funny! Love that diver girl too! I think she’s my favorite, so far.

Hahaha! Thanks so much. And, what can I say, I love that smell. 😃
Yeah, we both really like how she turned out too. Actually working on another one of those in different dive as we speak. Thanks!! 😃

“Ooh, That Smell”! That song’s totally stuck in my head now. I’d already posted my answers, but next time, I’m stealing yours!

I know, right? And worse yet, the dill weeds who creep up into my space at the grocery are usually yapping on their damn phone too. 😃

People really frustrate me sometimes….I honestly used to be a people person but these days, not so much. Maybe it’s a sign of getting older. Yikes!

Evidently. Hell, I had to leave the city and buy a farm. Couldn’t live that close to people. Had to increase the size of my bubble. 😃
