Time again for another round of Share Your World from Cee’s Photography.

The questions from the kids continue this week:

For the next two weeks the questions are from kids. The Happy Quitter wrote me this weekend and told me about her workshop she does for neighborhood kids and the some of the kids had some suggestions for the Share your World challenge. I realize there are more than 4 questions so feel free to answer all or only 4 questions.

Here are the questions the kids came up with:

Why did you start blogging?

Well, I was having an issue with my dad, and I started this as a way to journal and kinda collect my thoughts.   It’s morphed into talking about and posting about many different things, from music to politics to general inanity.  I’m currently eaten up with participating in photo challenges.

A piece of clothing you still remember?

I don’t have many of these left, or that still fit, but back in the late 70’s and throughout the 80’s and into the 90’s, I had dozens and dozens of concert tees.

I would get a tee-shirt at every show I went to, and there were lots.  I still go to concerts and festivals frequently, but I no longer care to buy the tee shirt.  Ticket prices to the shows are so outta whack anymore, I don’t feel the need to give them anymore of my cash than necessary.

Who are you trying to reach with your blog?

Myself, primarily.  If anyone wants to come along for the ride, that’s ok with me.

Is there a stuffed animal in your bedroom?

Nope.  I was never a stuffed animal collector, even as a kid.

The best birthday present ever?

I’d have a hard time picking just one, as my wife is a fantastic gift giver.  If I had to choose, though, I’d pick the first one after my wife and I started dating.  My birthday is in late November, and we had only been seeing each other since that September.  I figured she’d get me a gift, but something small.  We’d just started dating after all.  Turns out she had other plans, and the gift was the Pink Floyd box set.

It was super surprising and, as it turned out, was just the beginning of 24 years of fantastic gifts.  That being the first one though, I’ll always have a special place in my heart, and ears, for that collection of CD’s.

Oh, and I have saved every single homemade card, artwork, coffee mug, etc that my boys have given me.

That stuff is priceless to me and I’ll never part with any of it.

What would surprise me about you?

Not sure.  I guess I’d say it’d be the fact that I’m typically fairly laid back and quiet, maybe an introvert even.  But, I will speak my mind, forcefully when need be.  It catches people off guard when I stand up for myself or someone else, or when I raise my voice, or when I don’t back down from something or someone.  I kinda like that dichotomy though.  It’s often to my benefit to be underestimated.

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

This week, I’m thankful to have some extra time with my wife and boys, as it’s their Fall Break.  It’s been great and we’ve done some fun stuff, with a camping trip to Mammoth Cave still to come this weekend.  Also, my Cards played in possibly the biggest game of the college football season.  Even though we lost to Clemson in disappointing fashion, I think we represented ourselves well in one of the toughest environments in all of college football.  And our QB, Lamar Jackson, did nothing to decrease his odds of being the Heisman front runner.

As for what I’m looking forward to in the coming week, I’ll enjoy the time off from work.  That’s always a great thing.

My songs of the day are:

“Us and Them” by Pink Floyd

“Holiday” by Jimmy Buffett

“One Of These Days” by Pink Floyd

“Shy Boy” by J.D. McPherson

“Wristband” by Paul Simon

“Shine On You Crazy Diamond” by Pink Floyd

“Man I’m Supposed To Be” by American Aquarium

“Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd

    • That she is. That is far from the best one she’s done over the years, but that was my very first b-day gift from her. Sentimentally, I had to mention that one. 😃

  5. As always:Love your answers 🙂 Your wife seems to be great in regards to gifts. My husband is too. I’m helpless and it drives me crazy…
