I’m currently in a missin’-Summer kinda mindset, and longing for it.   With that in mind, here’s my take on it:

Make sure you deflate your tires:

Ocracoke sand at evening low tide:

First thing you see when driving off the ferry:

My songs of the day are:

“Brown Skin Girl” by Leon Bridges

“April In Paris” by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong

“Old Brown Shoe” by The Beatles

“Freight Train” by Elizabeth Cotten

“Brownsville Girl” by Bob Dylan

“I’ll Be Seeing You” by Eric Clapton

“Brown Sugar” by The Rolling Stones

“Charlie Brown” by The Coasters

  1. I’ve only done it once, but I loved that drive in from the ferry to the “city” on Ocracoke. It was a windy day and overcast day and it was like driving in a tunnel with the sand blowing everywhere.
