Time for this week’s Share Your World from Cee’s Photography.

Here are Cee’s questions for the week:

When you cut something with scissors, do you move your jaw (as if you were about to chew)?

I don’t think so, but I might and just not realize it.  I’m more of tongue-outta-the-corner-of-my-mouth or lip-purser kinda guy, when concentrating on something like cutting out a detailed pattern, cutting glass, or jigsawing or bandsawing a pattern out of wood.

Do you chew your pens and pencils?

No, but I do use my teeth to pull off pen or highlighter caps and hold them there ’til I’m done penning or highlighting.  I’m more of a tapper, twirler, or doodler with pens or pencils.

Are you a collector of anything? If so what?

Oh lord, am I!  An easier answer would be what I, and we, DON’T collect.  It changes over the years, where we’ll be focused on one thing for a while, then something else will become the “it” thing.  I promise you this though: every time we hit a yard sale, flea market, peddler’s mall, and/or antique/swap meet, we have a plan or somethings we are specifically on the hunt for.  And the 127 Yard Sale (google it if you’re not familiar with what it is) is like a small slice of heaven for us.

Our collections are many, and sometimes odd, and include ashtrays, suns, hands, Ball jars (specifically blue), quilts, vinyl records, rolling pins, signs, cameras, old posters, Gould prints, books, old panoramic group shots, birds.  Just to name a few off the top of my head.

And, it appears, that the junking gene is hereditary, as our boys enjoy it too, and have become adept at bartering, judging value, and utilizing a keen eye in a sea “stuff” when in a place with lots and lots of vendor booths.

What size is your bed?

We had a double forever, and old antique bed with matching vanity.  It was beautiful, and since we generally sleep pretzeled around each other, the double wasn’t an issue.  After years of ….abuse, that old bed frame had been collapsed so many times, it was beyond repair, even with brackets.

We finally had to break down and replace it.  The bed we found and wanted was a Queen.  We’ve had it now for about 4 years.  It’s a good bed with plenty of room for us.

We could’ve used this size bed several years ago, when the boys were little and would crawl in with us at times.  But, since we still pretzel-sleep, it’s really more room than we need.

Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

From last week, I’m grateful for the Spring-like weather we were enjoying, our boys’ archery team shot well at Regionals and qualified for the State tourney, and we reserved our house for our trip to Ocracoke this Summer.

In the next week, I’m looking forward to a return to Spring, as it has turned very cold and blustery after a late-week storm blew through.  Also, we have a few calves on the way, and hopeful it’ll be continued smooth sailing for the momma’s and babies both.

My songs of the day are:

“Imperial Bedroom” by Elvis Costello

“Sad Vacation” by The Dandy Warhols

“Pretzel Logic” by Steely Dan

“Smooth Sailing” by Leon Bridges

“Up for the Down Stroke” by Parliament

“PretzelBodyLogic” by Prince

“Permanent Vacation” by Aerosmith

“Rest In The Bed” by Laura Marling
