Time for this week’s Share Your World from Cee’s Photography.

Here are Cee’s questions for the week:

What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?

Skydive.  Well, actually, I have done it once, but it was a long time ago.  I want to do it again.

How often do you get a haircut?

My hair grows at a rapid rate, and I begin to look destitute if I don’t get one every 2-3 weeks.

In regards to puzzle what’s your choice: jigsaw, crossword, word search or numeric puzzles?

Of those choices, I’d pick crosswords.  I leave the Sunday NY Times crossword on my bedside table.  I work on it a few nights during the week if I have trouble sleeping.

I really enjoy jigsaw puzzles too, and can easily get wrapped up in one.  We rarely work on one at home though.   But, when we vacation, we generally rent a house, and most vacation rentals have books and movies and jigsaw puzzles left behind by previous renters.  So, we’ll clear a space and leave one out the entire week or two, working on it a little here and there.

How many cities have you lived? You can share the number of physical residences and/or the number of cities.

I’ve only lived in 2 cities, on a long-term basis: Louisville, KY and New Orleans. As a child though, I’d spend 1/2 of my year in Charleston, SC, and then Spartanburg, SC. eventually.

However, the number of physical residences is lengthy, as I moved frequently as a kid and young adult.   If I were to include all of the temporary residences I’d had, and in multiple cities, that number would climb dramatically.

The home we have now, since 2000, is by far the longest time I’ve ever spent in one place.  That wanderlust doesn’t go away, and I certainly continue to feed it.  But, “home” is someplace I’d never known, physically or existentially.  My wife gave me the existential home I’d longed for, and the farm gave me the physical home I’d always needed.

Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful for the opportunity to spend this long weekend with 3 of my favorite people, in one of my favorite places, and while doing one of my favorite things.

In the coming week, I’m not sure what I’m looking forward to.  It turns out that my boss got fired Friday.  I didn’t get the text from a co-worker until breakfast Saturday morning, as the restaurant gave us our first cell reception since Thursday.  So, I guess I’m in for a new boss, and I have zero idea what to expect.

My songs of the day are:

“Puzzle Pieces” by Saint Motel

“Old Kentucky Home” by The Greg Foresman Band

“The Boss” by James Brown

“Living In The City” by Hooray a For The Riff Raff

“Black Haired Québécois” by Old Crow Medicine Show

“Won’t Get Fooled Again” by The Who

“Happy House” by Siouxsie and The Banshees

“Jump They Say” by David Bowie

R.I.P. Gregg Allman

“Midnight Rider” by The Allman Brothers

    • So far so good. I’ve only worked with him for two days so far, but he seems alright. I’ve always preferred female bosses, but I’ll just do what I always do: head down, make myself indispensable. 😃
