Time for this week’s Which Way Photo Challenge fromΒ Cee’s Photography.

Here’s my take on it:

By boat:

By stairs:

By road:

By pier:

By bridge…preferably once the span is complete:

My songs of the day are:

“Either Way” by Wilco

“All The Way From America” by Joan Armatrading

“Blue Jay Way” by The Beatles

“Send Me On My Way” by Rusted Root

“F—ed My Way To The Top” by Lana Del Rey

“Way Down We Go” by Kaleo

“Can’t Find My Way Home” by Blind Faith

“Harm’s Swift Way” by Robert Plant

  1. Are they building a bridge out to Ocracoke? The black and white road photo with the clouds – WOW!

    • Oh, thank god, no!!! It’s so far out there, a bridge isn’t possible. That would be hell. Ferry, private craft, or small plane are, and hopefully always will be, the only way to access it. The inlet between the southern tip of Cape Hatteras and the northern tip of Ocracoke is relatively small, but the shoals are constantly shifting and the tides are so fierce, I doubt it’d ever be possible to build a bridge there either. This shot was crossing Oregon Inlet just south of Bodie Island Lighthouse, from the current span. The new span is significantly higher. It’s been talked about and debated for years, and, despite protests from locals and Outer Banks Preservation Society, it’s being built. Frankly, I hate seeing anything like this happening out there. But in big storms, those roads get washed out and new channels open up, so they have to manage that some way.
Thanks on the B&W one. That’s hey 12 up between Kinkakeet and Salvo. When y’all are there in the Fall, the dunes should be spectacular! Provided no big storms, of course. I love it when the dunes are huge like they are now. Stunning. πŸ˜ƒ

      • You never know about those bridges they like to inflict on places that don’t need them. Or want them! We definitely have some exploring to do… If the sea breeze doesn’t put me in a coma! 😎😴

      • Yeah, the new bridge may or may really be necessary, but I guarantee somebody’s making a boatload of money from it.
I hear ya’ on the beach coma. It’s an agonizingly slow trip down 12, but there’s a ton to see if you’re up for it. πŸ˜ƒ

      • We’ll try for mid week. Will have gotten some significant rest by then. I hope! πŸ˜€

      • I totally get it. At the very least, go check out the Currituck lighthouse. It’s climbable and fantastic. And close to where y’all will be. πŸ˜ƒ
