  4. Hey SOB..love the Pelly…..did you hear this??? (With a power outage expected to take days or weeks to resolve, officials have issued a mandatory evacuation order for visitors to Ocracoke island, and no one will be allowed on the island except for residents.) your not scheduled for a visit are you??

    • Oh crap! No, we spent 2 weeks in late June. Planning a week in October though. What’s up? Storm coming?


    • I just read about it. They’re building a new bridge over Oregon Inlet, about 40 miles from the southern tip of Hatteras. Apparently, the construction crew drove a piling through the underwater cable that feeds power to all the towns south of Oregon Inlet and Ocracoke. I think the bridge was an unnecessary project to begin with, and now they’ve screwed up the end of the tourist season for bunches of people. I’d be pissed if We were out there or going out there anytime soon. 😐
