Time for this week’s Share Your World from Cee’s Photography.

Here are Cee’s questions for the week:

What color do you feel most comfortable wearing?

I’m comfortable in just about any color, but I tend to wear darker ones.  The only color I have little or none of is beige.  Not a fan, apparently, as I have zero shirts of that hue.

What is your favorite type of dog? (can be anything from a specific breed, a stuffed animal or character in a movie)

Easy: black Lab.  They’re the best.

List at least five favorite flowers or plants.

Hydrangea, lilies, roses, echinacea, and cannabis.

What inspired you this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

Being on a trip this weekend for my wife’s 50th…albeit a last minute detour.  I had originally planned a surprise long weekend in Key West.  Flights, rental car, scooter rented, sunset cruise on a catamaran past Mallory Square on Friday night, a jet ski rented for Saturday morning, and a snorkel trip to the Dry Tortuga’s arranged for Saturday afternoon.  It was to go off without a hitch….until Irma developed.  I had held out hope she’d turn north into the Atlantic and spare the Keys, and our trip.  By Monday though, it was clear it wasn’t gonna change course.  Plans were changed last minute, to head to Asheville instead.  Turned to be a fantastic trip, and one that inspired lots of photos.

It’s not Key West, but we love Asheville too, and it turned out to be a fantastic birthday for her, even though it was thrown together at the last minute.

Now, I’m praying for all in Irma’s path to be wise and be safe….and that Key West survives and remains intact.  It’s a very special place to us, and one we have had in our rotation for 25 years.  The thought of it post-Irma breaks our hearts.  So we wait and watch and pray.

My songs of the day are:

“Way Over Yonder In The Minor Key” by Wilco

“The Dog” by Otis Redding

“The Flowers She Sent And The Flowers She Said She Sent” by The Magnetic Fields

“Hurricane Eye” by Paul Simon

“Asheville Skies” by The Milk Carton Kids

“Happy Birthday” by Ryan Adams

“Sound And Color” by Alabama Shakes

“Losing Keys” by Jack Johnson

  3. Key West is one of my favorite towns. Hope you make it there next time. Had to check out Paul Simon’s “Hurricane Eye” for obvious reasons.

  4. So sorry Irma changed your plans, but I’m glad you made it to Asheville. It’s such a beautiful little city. One of my favorites too. Hope your wife had a lovely b’day.

    • She did, thank you. We met and spoke with and are breakfasts with so many people who fled there from Florida. It appears that most heeded to evac orders, thankfully. But a lot of these places will be changed forever. So sad to watch, and having a change is trip plans certainly pales in comparison. 😕

  5. Following Irma over here. We don’t get them here only cyclones and that’s up north. Looks scary.

    • It’s pretty bad, from what I’ve watched and seen footage of. But, it could’ve been a lot worse. It appears that a large amount of people did evacuate, so that’s a good thing.

      • Yes. It sure does now the recovery process. Hopefully the insurance people pay out and pay quick😊

      • Oh, the insurance companies will try to screw people out of as much as possible. It’s what they do best. 😒

      • Tell me about it. We’ve handed in a claim in May still not settled. They upped their subscription to like 1.5 the usual amount. Then they told us they are getting engineers in to have a look at all the units as it’s strata. Which is going to cost even more. I had to hand it back to hubby to ring every week and talk to the boss of the place as his employee just shuffled us from one person to another. Weeks and weeks of phone calls hopefully will get our money this week. They tried only part pay on our claim with excuses after excuses.

      • Yep. They’ll do it these cases too, both Harvey and Irma. I saw first-hand after Katrina.

      • 😊 my friend got flooding with Harvey at her place. She’s not even going to bother with the insurers.

      • It’ll just cause more stress and make her mad, I’m certain. 😏

  6. You got the list of my flowers. Happy birthday to your wife. I’m glad even though a change of plan, it turned out Asheville is enjoyable for the birthday trip. Pray for people in the Keys and all the people in the path of Irma.
