Time for this week’s Share Your World from Cee’s Photography.

Here are Cee’s questions for the week:

What household chore do you absolutely enjoy doing? (can be indoor or outdoor)

Mowing the grass.  It takes a few hours, but I just put my headphones on and get to it.  It helps meet my alone-time quota for the week.

Create a sentence with the words “neon green” and “train”.

“Our search for the Brown Mountain Lights required us to pass through an abandoned, and reputedly haunted, rail tunnel…but as we neared the half-way mark, in complete inky darkness, an eerie neon green mist enveloped us, and our ears were pierced by the shrill whistle of a long-since retired logging train.”

Other than your cell phone what can you always be found with?

My wallet.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

One day this past week, it was gonna be just my oldest and myself at home around dinner time, so I stopped and got him one of his faves: a meatball sub from Subway.  While there, and in an extensive line, he said hello to and struck up a conversation with the guy in line ahead of us.  After he paid, he told us to have a great weekend, and left.  When I was ready to pay for ours, it turned out that guy had already paid for us.  I’d have thanked him, but he was already gone.  I was grateful that we were the subjects of a random act of kindness, and thankful for the teaching moment it providdd my son.  Now, he’s waiting for the opportunity to pay it forward.  I love the lesson.

My songs of the day are:

“Life Sentence” by Dead Kennedys

“Chores” by Animal Collective

“Grateful” by Patti Smith

“Neon” by John Mayer

“Peace Train” by Cat Stevens

“Nothing Short Of Thankful” by The Avett Brothers

“Chores” by Merle Haggard

“Green” by The Dandy Warhols

  5. Love the bit about your son. You’ve mentioned before that he is a teenager and it says a lot about you and your wife as parents that he would take the time to talk with a stranger.
