Time for this week’s Share Your World from Cee’s Photography.

Here are Cee’s questions for the week:

If you were to pack a basket for pinic lunch, what would be in your basket?

I’m really more of a cooler guy than a picnic basket guy.  Be it a day at a park, an outdoor film or concert, firework display, or just a stop for lunch on a drive, I will always have a cooler stocked.  Tea, lemonade, wine, a beer or two.  Sandwich making materials, cheeses, fruit.  I can plan for a day-trip now.

On a vacation what you would require in any place that you sleep?

I’m pretty easy to please.  I have slept in some places most others may cringe at, from forest floors to hostel floors, questionable couches to questionable….locales.  But, on a vacation?  I want clean.  No bugs, no smells, no questionable….stains.  And we don’t need, or even desire, 5-Star accomadations.  But it better be clean.

If you were to buy a new house/apartment what is the top three items on your wish list?

We will never move from this house, so long as we have anything to say about it.  But, for discussions’ sake, if we ever did, these 3 items would top the list:

Pool, workshop/barn with modern utilities and heat/ac, and a dedicated darkroom space.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

School is out for summer!  The kids are happy, of course.  But, so are mom and I.  No practices to rush to, tournaments to trek to, homework to assist with, or mornings under time crunches.  Parents dig summer break too!

My songs of the day are:

“Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd

“High School Confidential” by Mudcrutch

“3005 (Beach Picnic Version)” by Childish Gambino

“I Go To Sleep” by The Pretenders

“Rock n’ Roll High School” by The Ramones

“It Always Rains On A Picnic” by Modest Mouse

“I Wish” by The Isley Brothers

“Come Into My Sleep” by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

  1. I loved your answers, gave me a laugh about the needing a clean room. I’ve also stayed in some winners….I would prefer the forest in those cases.

  2. I’m looking forward to spending time with my 11 yr old granddaughter now, but there are still sports a plenty.

  3. I would be happy about no school being out too. We still have another month to go.

  4. Really? School is done? Kids around here have another week to 10 days! I’m thinking your system is better. Memorial Day is the official start of summer after all!

You’re never leaving your house? I hear Okracoke calling: Beach family, resistance is futile, you will be relocated. 😆

    • Hahaha! Well, you may be right about the place at OINC, but I doubt we’d ever part with the farm. Now, as far as the wish list for a place out there? Only one. That it’s there. I’d take a shack if it were on the island. 😃

      • I get that… you have roots at the farm and the region. Sometimes I feel ‘unplanted’ like I’ve never put down roots anywhere!

      • I hear ya’. I never felt planted anywhere until here. Moved so many times prior to this, from birth, that I couldn’t ever feel like it was “home”. More important to me is that these boys will only ever know this place as home. I wanted any child of mine to have that. I’m really happy to have given them this. 😊

      • That is just awesome! Good plan and I am sure they will cherish that sense of stability as they go forth in the world. They can always come home!

      • I sure hope so. 😃

  5. I have mixed feelings about summer break. But that’s more of a financial concern for me… and the boredom that goes along with not having money to spend to do anything. But my kids don’t get out until 6/19… more than 2 more weeks. But I know your kids start earlier than mine do… they start the last week of August. And they have to make up 5 snow days.

I’m rambling about nothing now. Sorry… ignore me.
