Time for this week’s Share Your World, not from Cee, who is still on break, but from Lingering Visions.

Here are the questions for the week:

Do You Prefer / Which Would You Rather questions:

  1. Pen or pencil ?
Well, that depends.  When doing math or figuring lengths of boards, etc, I prefer a pencil.  If I’m writing anything, I prefer a pen.  And not a gel pen, because they smear too easily. Black ink only.
  2. Wine or beer ?
Beer.  I can’t say I know much at all about wine, from its bouquet to what pairs well with what food, etc.  I generally don’t care for wine, and given the option between the two, I’m taking a beer every time.  I did get a taste for it while we were in Italy this summer.  It was all pretty good.  My favorite cocktail there, though, was a Negroni.
  3. Bean bags or straight-back chairs ?
Ha!  When I was a kid, I had a bean bag chair in my room, all the way through high school.  They were cool for lounging in, playing video games from, or listening to records.  Now, I’m 49 years old currently.  While I could chill in a bean bag chair still, it’s a bit harder to get outta one now.  I’ll take a chair, please.  😃
  4. Monty Python or Three Stooges?
Well, I love both, as slapstick as they each may be.  The Stooges are a bit more juvenile, and Monty Python is more witty, but they’re both funny.  I’ll watch either any time they’re on.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?

I’m grateful we had a wonderful week of weather, with sunny days and manageable temps.  We got a lot done around the house, from mowing, planting a bit, getting a solid start on painting the house, and finally getting around to putting bead board on the ceiling of our bedroom.  We’ve done all the rooms in the house with it except ours, so it’s good get that done too.  Feels good to be productive.  And it’s always satisfying to see the results of a little sweat equity.

My songs of the day are:

“The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword” by Van Morrison

”Whiskey, Beer, & Wine” by Buddy Guy

”Blue Chair” by Elvis Costello

”Funny Little Tragedy” by Gov’t Mule

”Poison Pen” by Bauhaus

”Cryin’ In Your Beer” by Stereophonics

“Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair” by Arctic Monkeys

”Funny Not To Care” by Lake Street Dive

  1. I use gel pens all the time…Bold, Black and they SMEAR constantly. LOL I can’t help it. I love them. They blend with water, so I use them to smudge everything. Definitely Monty Python. OMG The dead parrot…LOL So many hysterical skits. I bet your house looks fabulous now and accomplishing things does make people feel good. Loved the post.

  6. We started repainting the outside of the house too this year. I have gotten most of the trim around the windows done except for that one window that seems inaccessible… It feels good to change things up a bit and I smile everytime I see it.

    • Makes a big difference, doesn’t it? I’ve gotten about half the house done now, and it looks so fresh and clean. Can’t wait to get the rest done, though it’ll involve extension ladders….and I hate those. 😃
