Time for this week’s Share Your World from Sparks From A Combustible Mind.

Here are her questions for the week:

What’s the biggest screw up in the kitchen that you were responsible for?

When my wife and I first started dating, I invited her to my place for dinner one night.  I made lasagna, from scratch, with garlic bread and a Caesar salad.  Nice, right?  I cleaned, candles on the table, dimmed lights.  Really romantic….until she asked me if had used oregano in my recipe.  I had.  She, as it turns out, is allergic to oregano.  Oops.

What, in your opinion, makes people believe absurd conspiracy theories?

Not sure.  I think the world is, in large part, a cynical place.  Thus, I think most people have an “It wouldn’t surprise me if…” or “I wouldn’t put it past them…” kinda mindset, making any scenario, no matter how outlandish, seem plausible.

In 40 years what will people be nostalgic for?

Ipads, family dinners, being able to see live music without foresaking the kids’ college fund for tickets, reality tv, democracy, coastal cities and islands submerged by rising sea levels.

Is a hot dog a sandwich?

Nope.  It’s a hot dog.

And finally:

What wonderful thing happened to you this week that you’d like to share?  It can be a gratitude moment or something that just made you feel very happy at the time or made you laugh.

My twins are on their middle school archery team, and as 8th graders, they’re sorta the old guard “seniors” now.  But, watching the first 2 practices, with new 6th graders now joining the team, was a lesson in patience for the older kids.  Funny how things change.  Seems like yesterday that it was my rambunctious knuckleheads that we’re giggling, talking when told explicitly not to, and generally being a total distraction.  They’re getting a taste of their own medicine now, and it’s amusing to witness.  😃😃

My songs of the day are:

”Thankful N’ Thoughtful” by Sly & The Family Stone

”Peanut Butter Conspiracy” by Jimmy Buffett

“Come On In My Kitchen” by Robert Johnson

”Hot Dog” by Led Zeppelin

“Nostalgia Rag” by Arlo Guthrie

”Soul Kitchen” by The Doors

”Conspiracy Theory” by Steve Earle

”Thankful” by Joe Cocker

  1. Time flies doesn’t it? Watching my grandkids always takes me back to their parents. Enjoy it all! I think my iPad may have already turned obsolete; ) Love the oregano! Great effort though and I’m sure she loved it.♡♡

  2. Great answers, as always. Too bad about the oregano. No, I’m not laughing, not really, maybe a chuckle or snicker, but not laughing. Like your music choices. 🙂

  3. If she became your wife, you obviously got an “A” for effort on that dinner. Excellent musical selection to go with dinner too! 🙂 thanks for Sharing Your World with us this week! 😀

  4. You are so right about the live concert prices. Bob Seger is coming through in May for a final Ta Da. Tickets are starting at $543.00. Those are expensive cheap seats.

  5. Man, thinking about the enormous changes we’ve seen in our lifetimes is amazing… I wonder what happens next? Yes, you totally get an A for the romantic dinner, even with the oregano! Obviously, J thought so too! 😊
