Time for this week’s Share Your World from Sparks From A Combustible Mind.

Here are her questions for the week:

What’s the worst topping you could put on popcorn?   (credit to Teresa for this one)

Anything other than butter or white cheddar.

In what country did Silent Night originate?

I have no idea, actually.  I’ll guess…..Germany?

(WARNING! The following question is NOT meant to start a fuss.  It’s merely a good discussion question in my opinion.  Most everyone knows where I stand on this. If you feel like arguing about it, please give it a pass.) We’re all adults and sensible ones at that.  We can be mature about such things, right?

How would you react if there was irrefutable proof that God doesn’t exist? How about if there was irrefutable proof that God does exist?

Not sure…either way.   I’ll tell you this though,  I’d feel a whole lot better if it were the latter.

And last question:

What is the scariest non banned item you could take on to a plane?

Somebody with a cough.  We usually refer to them as Tommy/Tammy Tuberculosis.  Flying is hassle enough without being subjected to communicable disease.

Which version of the holiday celebration do you and your family enjoy?  By this I mean do you follow Jewish traditions with Hanukkah; Christian celebrations with Christmas and (for those over the pond) Boxing Day; or some other festivities that I’ve overlooked?   Please do share with everyone!  I truly feel that this sort of question lets us know a little more about our fellow bloggers without getting too personal (i.e. revealing too much of private lives, which some folks prefer to keep private.)

We are Christians…though I refer to myself as a non-practicing, non-denominational.  We celebrate Christmas.

My songs of the day are:

”Gotta Get The First Plane Home” by The Kinks

“Mother Popcorn” by James Brown

”God Save The Queen” by Sex Pistols

”Silent Scream” by Gov’t Mule

”Ain’t Even Done With The Night” by John Mellencamp

”No Plane On Sunday” by Jimmy Buffett

”Santa Claus And Popcorn” by Merle Haggard

”God Is In The House” by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

  1. I find bloggers (at least the ones in “our” circle) so much kinder and more respectful of others’ beliefs than the trolls on fb, twitter, and other social media. Have a great day!

  2. Here’s a Swedish silent night version that I think you can understand even if you don’t speak Swedish 😉
Your post inspired me to do a Silent night post at my blog. Thanks!

  4. Your reference to the Tuberculosis twins was very funny and probably touches a note with everyone.

  5. The Typhoid Tammies and Tommies are absolutely the most dangerous things you could take on an airplane. 😊 Nice post and I enjoyed all your answers.

  6. The only song I would add is Do They Know It’s Christmas from BandAid

  7. Even with being a tubercular (tubular?) Tammie right now (although I don’t go around folks. I prefer to keep my ‘disease’ to myself in the vain hope it will get bored and go away) I still am in full agreement with your ‘worst on the plane’ answer. Nothing worse than some twit spreading the ‘joy’, is there? Thanks for Sharing Your Wonderful World! And the jukebox selections? Perfect! 🙂 (now I’m off to listen to that Merle Haggard one..which I admit to never having heard) Thanks!! 😀

    • Hahaha! Yeah, I usually get the constant cough guy or the perpetually sniffling guy right next to me. It’s not pleasant. Enjoy that Merle song. He was a tortured soul, but quite the storyteller. 😃

  8. Oh boy being on a plane with sick people is not good!
