Time for this week’s Share Your World from Sparks From A Combustible Mind.

Here are her questions for the week:

What traditional Christmas decoration is actually a parasitic plant?

I’m pretty sure it’s mistletoe.

Name something about this holiday season (whatever version you may celebrate) that most people like, but you dislike?

Hmmm.  There’s not much about the season I don’t like, to be honest.  We celebrate Christmas, and it’s one of my favorite holidays.  Especially since we had kids.

If I had to pick something though, it’d be that turkey is served again.  Here in the US, of course, we had turkey four weeks ago, for Thanksgiving.  Once a year is good enough for me.  We host Christmas, and it’s never turkey on the table. This year, it’s simply lasagna, ceasar salad, garlic bread, and the usual appetizers and desserts.

What’s your favorite – or least favorite –  song sung traditionally at this time of year?

My favorite is “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” by Barenaked Ladies, followed by “Feliz Navidad” by Jose Feliciano in a close second.

And the last one ———>  In the song “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer,” what “incriminating” evidence was found on Grandma’s back?

Hoof prints, I think.

Finally:    What would you like to share with the world, if time or cost were no object?

Oh man.  How about a laugh?  Laughter is fantastic healing, and a universal language.  Is it possible to be mad when laughing?  I think not!  The world could use a little common ground…and smiles.

My songs of the day are:

”Laugh As The Sun” by Rusted Root

”God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” by Barenaked Ladies

“Smile Away” by Paul McCartney

“Cold Turkey” by John Lennon

“Don’t Make Me Laugh” by Gomez

“Feliz Navidad” by Jose Feliciano

”Smile” by Robin Trower

”Ho! Ho! Ho! (Who’d Be A Turkey At Christmas)” by Elton John

  10. Merry Christmas . We don’t have turkey over here. We usually have BBQ for Christmas which means lamb, pork , prawns and beef. This year is no different. Today I’m making salmon rice paper rolls for the kids.
